My core setup
If I had to strip everything down to the essentials, this would be my core setup. These are the pieces I come back to again and again for travel, street photography, portraits, and cinematic everyday moments.
Cameras 📷
Fujifilm X-T5 My main camera for almost everything I shoot. It gives me the most flexibility without feeling bulky, and it’s the body I trust the most when I want one camera that can handle nearly every situation.
Best for: travel, street, portraits, everyday workFujifilm X100VI The camera I take when I want to stay light, quick, and unobtrusive. Perfect for everyday carry, quiet moments, and situations where a smaller camera helps me shoot more freely.
Best for: everyday carry, travel, casual street photographyDJI Nano My go-to for quick POV clips and lightweight behind-the-scenes moments. Simple, compact, and easy to bring along when I don’t want more gear than necessary.
Best for: POVs, vlogging, behind the scenesDJI Osmo Pocket 3 My go-to camera for smooth video clips, travel moments, and quick behind-the-scenes shots. It’s compact, fast, and easy to carry, which makes it perfect when I want cinematic motion without bringing a bigger setup. Best for: travel video, behind the scenes, smooth handheld clips
Lenses 🔎
Fujifilm 16–55mm f/2.8 WR II My most-used lens by far. If I only want to carry one lens, this is usually it. It covers almost everything I need and gives me the flexibility to move fast without constantly switching gear.
Best for: travel, street, layered scenes, all-round useFujifilm 23mm f/1.4 WR A great choice when I want a natural field of view with more depth and atmosphere than a standard zoom. It feels immersive without being too wide and works especially well for cinematic storytelling.
Best for: documentary-style frames, low light, storytellingFujifilm 27mm f/2.8 Pancake WR The lens I use when I want my setup to stay as small and lightweight as possible. Not the most dramatic lens in the bag, but incredibly practical and easy to live with.
Best for: compact travel setup, everyday shooting, minimal carryFujifilm 33mm f/1.4 WR Probably my favorite prime overall. This lens gives me the look I love most: clean separation, natural perspective, and a very intimate, cinematic feel without looking forced.
Best for: portraits, details, cinematic everyday momentsFujifilm 56mm f/1.2 My choice when I want stronger compression, softer backgrounds, and a more isolated subject. It’s a more specific lens, but when the shot calls for it, the look is beautiful.
Best for: portraits, tighter frames, subject separationFujifilm 50–140mm f/2.8 WR The lens I bring when I want reach, compression, and more visual separation. Especially useful for travel details, layered city scenes, and moments where I want to stay further away from the subject.
Best for: compression, details, distant subjects, travel scenes
Filters 🌫️
Tiffen Black Pro-Mist 1/8 One of my favorite tools for taking the digital edge off an image. It adds a subtle softness and glow to highlights without overdoing it, which makes it great for a more cinematic and nostalgic feel.
Best for: golden hour, portraits, atmospheric highlights
Bags 🎒
Bellroy Venture Camera Sling Bag 10L My everyday carry bag. Small enough to stay comfortable, but big enough for the essentials I actually use on walks, city shoots, and lighter travel days.
Best for: daily use, city walks, compact setupsBellroy Transit Travel Pack Pro (30–38L) My preferred bag for bigger travel days when I want one clean carry-on setup. It fits camera gear, tech, and essentials without feeling too clunky.
Best for: travel, carry-on setup, longer days on the move
I keep this page intentionally simple and only include gear I genuinely use.
